Microsoft Corporation Technical Program Manager II in Redmond, Washington

The Microsoft Azure Core mission critical platform team builds and manages the fundamental platform experiences across Azure compute, storage and networking services. This is a unique role that spans multiple aspects of the infrastructure lifecycle involving both the hardware and software layers of the infrastructure platform. You will run programs and build innovative systems to drive reliable customer experiences in the cloud infrastructure platform.

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager II to drive highly impactful cross-organization initiatives. To succeed in this role, we are looking for technical and analytical skills, excellent cross-group collaboration skills, and a passion for driving great customer experiences. You should also be able to make data driven decisions and be competent in deriving insights based on data. You should be comfortable building trusted relations with our partners and engineering teams, influencing the roadmaps and executive presentations. You’ll be working with teams across multiple organizations in Azure to influence, prioritize improvements in our services, processes, and the tools that will help us improve the platform. Finally, we’re looking for team players with a can-do approach, who have a bias towards action and results.

Responsibilities

  • You will drive technical platform investments across Azure engineering teams.

  • You will prepare and contribute to high quality executive reviews.

  • You will define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish and execute on plans for improving those KPIs.

  • You will partner with data scientists and engineers on scenario design, product tradeoffs, incremental delivery.

  • You will analyze data and dashboards deeply to drive your programs.

  • You will engage with customers to understand gaps and prioritize capabilities with engineering teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development.

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 1+ year(s) experience working with Big data/complex data.

  • 2+ years of experience with data analysis

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
