Microsoft Corporation Senior Technical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s Xbox organization seeks to empower every game creator to realize their dreams of connecting with gamers everywhere. Our product team seeks to do that at scale by building and leveraging our partnerships with the biggest names in game streaming.

To deliver on this goal, you as Senior Technical Program Manager will focus on integrating and improving our Xbox platforms on partner streaming services. You’ll coordinate with external streaming providers and internal Microsoft stakeholders to ensure our platforms and services work seamlessly on streaming platforms. You will also deliver and report on compliance requirements and needs in the game streaming space, working closely with our legal counsel and internal game studios.

Responsibilities

Platform Health & Compliance : Drive platform integration and improvements in partnership with external game streaming companies. Track, report and deliver compliance and contractual requirements in the product space.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate effectively with internal and external development partners, including designers, engineers, artists, and external studios. Manage relationships and ensure the smooth execution of projects.

Execution Excellence : Oversee project planning and execution, ensuring milestones are met, risks are identified and mitigated, and deliverables are of the highest quality. Continuously monitor and improve processes to optimize project outcomes. Attention to detail and ability to balance multiple workstreams at once.

Inclusive Leadership : Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that values the contributions of all team members. Promote an atmosphere where different perspectives are respected and considered in decision-making.

Executive Communication : Demonstrate executive communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to senior leadership and stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project status and key insights.

Industry Expertise : Bring an understanding of the games industry and the long-term evolution of the Game Streaming space. Use this knowledge to inform product strategy and decision-making.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 4+ years experience in technology product and program management driving technical engineering teams to solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in organizational, written and verbal skills.

  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Knowledge of the gaming industry with a specific focus on cloud-based game streaming and associated technologies.

  • Experience working with external companies, in partnership to achieve business goals and objectives.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
