Microsoft Corporation Senior Technical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

In this Senior Technical Program Manager role, you will leverage your program management and technical expertise to lead efforts that bring alignment on standards, processes, and technologies used to secure the cloud infrastructure and platforms used in the enterprise. You will identify systemic areas of opportunity, define plans to close gaps, and gain buy-in from teams across Microsoft in the development of security baselines, controls, and control procedures for implementation. You will push for automation and drive towards secure by default environments. Along the way, you will be a trusted voice proactively sharing your knowledge and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and design solutions to address security control issues (e.g., network, identity, high security environments), taking intended and unintended consequences into account.

  • Operationalize and scale a program and solution appropriately.

  • Identify high priority opportunities and make data-driven recommendations to improve security posture (e.g., streamline processes, automate) with automation and efficiency in mind.

  • Define and lead cross-organizational alignment of technical baselines, controls, processes, and technologies for increasing the security of Microsoft cloud and on-prem infrastructure and converging on hardware and software platforms and tools in support of the infrastructure.

Qualifications

Required Qualificiations:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in technical program/product management, security engineering, or similar role

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 3+ years of experience implementing security on a large enterprise for cloud infrastructure and/or on-prem infrastructure.

  • 2+ years of general cybersecurity experience.

Preferred Qualificiations:

  • 2+ years of experience producing concise and quality technical documentation.

  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft security products and solutions

  • Prior experience with deploying, testing, and troubleshooting Microsoft security products and solutions for the cloud.

  • Experience with hands on cloud infrastructure development and operations

  • General knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity standards.

  • Extensive leadership skills, including the ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively across multiple business groups with clear intent.

  • Decision making skills, and ability to work with deadlines.

  • Presentation skills and experience presenting to management.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
