Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Native Development in Redmond, Washington

As a Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Native Development on the Azure Kubernetes Service team, you will have the opportunity to navigate various layers of the technology stack, from popular service framework such as gRPC to k8s(Kubernetes) build, test, resource provisioning, release, and monitoring. Your responsibilities will encompass designing and implementing distributed cloud services and libraries adhering to security best practices. Responsibilities

  • Develop template code for creating production quality service, including micro-service creation (e.g., gRPC, REST API), build, test, resource provisioning, deployment, monitoring, etc.

  • Keep up with the latest tech stacks and upgrade the template if we see the values.

  • Mentor engineers in terms of code review, design review, helping them debug technical problems, etc.

  • Design and implement a service that maintains the best practices for AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and the company.

  • Work with users to help them use our templating system. Take their feedback and improve our system.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experiences with Kubernetes, Linux, and containers.

  • 2+ years of experiences with building distributed cloud services.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

  • OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,

  • OR Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
