We are looking for a Senior Queue Administrato r to join a growing Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) team embedded within Microsoft’s Silicon engineering team. The Linux Administrator will be part of a dynamic UNIX administration team. This Linux administrator will have primary responsibilities overseeing our Linux-based high-performance compute scheduling systems working with engineers and systems administration to optimize these high-performance compute systems. Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Administer several high-performance compute schedulers.

  • Support engineers using running jobs via these schedulers.

  • Generate reports on scheduler utilization.

  • Automate administration of UNIX systems including job schedulers.

  • General Linux systems administration

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering

o OR equivalent experience.

3+ years of Linux Systems Administration Experience.

2+ years of system automation experience using some scripting language such as Shell, Perl, or Python.

3+ years of experience with job scheduler management tools such as LSF, Altair or Slurm.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years’ Experience programming in Tcl.

  • Experience in networking, systems administration, automation, and monitoring.

  • Understanding of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) concepts.

Service Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
