Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Manager in Redmond, Washington

Serverless containers have redefined the way business deploy and manage their applications at scale. The Azure Container instances team innovates across all elements of cloud computing stack to deliver the simplest and fastest serverless containers service. In addition to powering customer applications, Azure Container instances service also forms the bedrock for many of Azure’s own serverless experiences.

As a Senior Product Manager in the Azure Container Instances team, you will define the product roadmap, and go-to-market plans to accelerate adoption of serverless containers. You will partner with teams across Azure including other Azure container services such as Azure Kubernetes Service to provide our customers with seamless experiences. This opportunity will allow you to build a deeper understanding of modern containerized workloads such as generative AI, machine learning, and data processing to drive growth. It will also allow you to collaborate with marketing, finance, and economics teams to learn more about the serverless containers business. This is a flexible work opportunity allowing selected candidates to fully work from home.

Responsibilities

  • You will drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas. You’ll also identify long-term investment opportunities and engage partners to garner support for those feature areas.

  • You will help define a feature set and facilitate mid-level usability reviews with customers. You’ll own the roadmap for multiple feature areas, and will collaborate with a partner team to build golden configurations and drive scenario walkthroughs.

  • You will scale Product Marketing teams by helping build marketing, roll-out, and customer support plans. You’ll also promote the feature areas you worked on and present at large events.

  • You will partner with others to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for complex technical needs in order to improve product development in targeted areas. You’ll also identify features to deprecate, manage customer communities, and build trust with targeted customers.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience with Container Technologies (eg Docker, Kubernetes)/Serverless Cloud Services (eg Functions as a Service)

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience working with AI/ML models including LLMs/statistical models or data-processing workloads in cloud.

  • Experience managing large projects, driving consensus among large number of varied stakeholders.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
