As a part of the Microsoft Purview product team, you will work on the cutting edge of data security and compliance. Data security and compliance for AI is a broad, new, and rapidly evolving space with high interest from our customer base and the partner community. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to envision and deliver exciting new products in the AI space that will keep enterprise data secure as they adopt AI. Building great user experiences combined with a deep understanding of the Microsoft Purview tech stack that enables these experiences is the key to success in this role. Your perspective on the product and strategic direction of this space will influence the plans of thousands of customers and partners and help us build an amazing ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Developing a deep understanding of customer needs and challenges around data security and compliance for AI. Be grounded in customer and business requirements and be the voice of the customer.

  • Providing product and technical leadership in partnership with a team of engineers, researchers, designers, and peer product managers.

  • Partnering with UX and Engineering teams for timely release and customer success.

  • Working with Product Marketing, Business Planning, and Engineering to define release criteria and strategize on customer acquisition, usage retention, and monetization.

  • Developing and evaluating metrics that gauge product success.

  • Fostering engagement with internal teams, external partners, early adopters, leadership, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience with designing and shipping complex products over multiple iterations for developers and customers, demonstrating ownership and accountability for the entire product lifecycle from ideation to delivery and maintenance.

  • 3+ years of experience with identifying and understanding the needs and expectations of customers, understanding market trends, and delivering solutions that create value for customers and the business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Ability to achieve results in an agile environment with a focus on high-impact action, working to bring clarity to ambiguous requirements in an early-stage product.

  • Experience in information protection, data loss prevention, data compliance, and similar technologies in this space.

  • Aptitude for analytical thinking, disciplined problem solving, and data analysis skills used to identify the root cause of issues.

  • Experience negotiating, collaborating, and problem solving across teams and organizations.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
