Microsoft Corporation Principal Technical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

We are looking for a customer-centric and quality-focused, Principal Technical Program Manager to lead our strategy and roadmap of platform investments on this initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex area, with executive visibility and many critical cross group dependencies.

  • Drive projects that require collaboration from multiple teams across Microsoft while sharing a common strategic vision. In partnership with our engineering leaders, help teams understand their role in contributing to improving the engineering culture in Microsoft and the value of continue adopting best practices and standards.

  • Drive and communicate the overall strategy for each key project initiative, both the short term execution and priorities, as well as the vision and roadmap.

  • Influence and partner with key internal partners to develop detailed platform improvements plans, gather feedback, manage dependencies, and ensure project success.

  • Prepare and deliver high quality executive reviews, as well as engaging audiences at different levels.

  • Keep pace with emerging standards and best practices across Azure, and leverage learnings to improve our future platform roadmap.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • 2+ years' experience with modern cloud infrastructure concepts and design techniques.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including developing clear and compelling exec-review ready presentations, strategy proposals, and product design documents.

  • Exceptional collaboration skills, and ability to paint compelling vision and value props that influence teams without having direct authority.

  • Proven experience and ability to build sustainable long relationships with external customers and partners.

Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
