The Commerce Engineering Operation group in Commerce + Ecosystems focuses on delivering high quality customer and partner experiences and exceptional business outcomes through Microsoft’s commerce systems, today and in the digitally transformed future.

As a Principal Software Engineer on the Commerce Engineering Operation group you will leverage your leadership to support your team in design, implementation and launch of the new features you create, to get us closer to Risk Management Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

Qualifications

  • Required/Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience. Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Software development experience (or similar) for cloud based services with UI and backend and hands on programming experience in C#, .Net, Azure, HTML/CSS/JS 

  • Experience working across organizations leading integration and solutions in a complex environment, leading software projects from ideation to delivery.

  • Experience with architecting and developing robust and extensible solutions 

  • Experience with public cloud services, such as Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP)   

  • Experience with large scale eCommerce Risk Management   

  • Experience with Microsoft’s Power Platform and Dynamics 365 development

  • Experience with data analytics, data modeling and AI fundamentalsSoftware Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
