Job Description Summary This position supports maintenance by repairing and maintaining plant wide maintenance functions throughout the plant as assigned, while working under limited supervision. Job Description * Perform regular assigned checks * Keep work logs up to date * Perform equipment repair, overhaul and trouble shooting * Assist with proper start-up and shut down of plant equipment * Develop work lists and equipment modification recommendations * Use all basic electronic/electrical test equipment * Run conduit and wiring per NEC * Calibrate and repair plant electrical and electronic equipment * Troubleshoot and repair equipment * Adhere to all safety procedures for work performed, including instructing others in safe work habits * Actively practice and abide by all Company work, safety, and personal hygiene rules and regulations, as outlined in the employee handbook * Availability to work any shift, any or all days of the week, or overtime, in accordance with production and maintenance schedules and applicable seniority rules * Thorough knowledge of basic mechanical skills (i.e. plumbing, measuring, changing bearings, etc.) * Ability to take initiative in preventative maintenance activities, mechanical repair and modification, identification, scheduling and implementation * Ability to work alone and in a neat workman-like manner * Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, in English * Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions Basic & Preferred Qualifications * 2 year electrical certification or equivalent experience or education Skills and Experience: * Ability to read, draw and edit electrical and electronic schematics * Ability to design control circuits * Troubleshoot complicated electrical and electronic systems * Basic understanding of PLC's and P.C programming equipment Physical Environment/Demands: * Ability to work in all areas of the plant, both inside and outside during any and all weather conditions * Ability to weld, chip, grind and use all power tools safely at different heights on scaffolds, ladders and safety cages * Regularly work near moving mechanical parts, around electrical equipment and open circuits * Regularly work in an environment in which the noise level is usually high * Frequently exposed to extreme cold surroundings * Occasionally exposed to humid conditions as well as hot and cold environments * May work on wet, icy, and greasy floors * May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations * Must be able to lift, push, and pull heavy items repeatedly * Ability to lift 50
