Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). The Air Force and Combatant Commands Business Group of SAIC is seeking a Unix/Linux Administrator to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.

SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation's information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, an cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

Job Description

The Unix/Linux Administrator's role is to:

• Operate and tune Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, servers, and related components to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications and databases.

• Familiarity with VMWare virtualization technologies.

• Familiarity with Tenable ACAS vulnerability management solution.

• Experience with Ansible automation tools and scripting languages such as Bash.

• Experience with managing DNSSEC key solution to including certificate maintenance.

• Ensure that RHEL system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with DISA and NIST guidelines.

• Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement Unix systems that utilize industry best practices to meet government customer objectives.

• Install and configure RHEL systems and software.

• Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure Unix system security through secure system access, monitoring, control, and routine security evaluations using DISA STIG.

• Perform standard configuration, management, and maintenance tasks for related file systems, input/output systems, clustering, storage, and applications.

• Perform and test system configuration backups and restores to ensure system recovery from error or outage.

• Perform and test data backups and restores, in conjunction with the storage team where present, to ensure full data retrieval.

• Review and deploy Unix system releases and vendor-supplied patches according to best practices.

• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on all Unix systems.

• Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.

• Preserve and provide system log files, as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

It is required that the Unix/Linux Administrator have the following qualifications:

  • BA/BS

  • Nine (9) or more years of related experience. An additional four (4) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Top Secret clearance (SCI eligibility).

  • Required certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (ex. CompTIA Security + w/CE).

  • Location requirement: Must be able to support Hybrid schedule of three days on-site at RKB, Quantico, VA/ 2 days flexwork.

  • Experience with administration of Solaris or CentOS/Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.

  • Experience with configuring and managing NAS devices.

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMWare preferred).

  • Knowledge and understanding of operating systems, networks, and services.

  • Experience managing changes to system and assess the security impact of those changes.

Desired Qualifications

  • TS/SCI

  • Puppet, Ansible

  • BASH/Python scripting

  • Docker

  • Kubernetes

  • Knowledge of version control systems - Git, SVN preferred.

  • Experience with continuous integration servers - Jenkins preferred.

  • Experience with cloud computing technologies (AWS, Azure).

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps principles.
