Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities Serves as a primary point of contact for a specifically identified track of training courses such as for management training, recreation, food and hospitality, information technology, procurement training, etc. Mentors, conducts and manages apprenticeships for field course managers pertaining to the assigned track of training. Conducts Train-The-Trainer sessions to prepare potential trainers to accomplish mass training efforts. Manages, monitors and recommends budgeting for the assigned training program area utilizing both Appropriated Funds and Nonappropriated Funds. Prepares and provides reports on financial status of expenses, training attendance/usage, training plans offered and other information as required. Reviews, updates, analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations for content of the assigned track of training. Develops new approaches, modifies work methods or procedures to deliver effective training to employees, and promotes new employee development efforts to Marine Corps field activities. Uses competencies such as meeting facilitation, consensus building, negotiating, coalition building and conflict resolution to interact appropriately with and coach all levels of personnel and customers. Delivers briefings, point papers, status/staff reports and correspondence to Marine Corps field activities and employees to foster understanding, acceptance, and participation in training recommendations. Plans, administers, and evaluates a wide range of training designed to develop employees, and manage learning in the organization to support strategic goals and objectives, and produce the results that accomplish the agency¿s mission. Conducts interviews, needs assessments, and surveys to identify training needs, evaluate training plans and identify goals and objectives. Conducts a variety of training classes and/or coordinates with vendors to conduct classes with content that may include but is not limited to: general soft skills training, human resources training, management and supervisory training, and specialty training (i.e., recreation, retail, HRMS, Essentus) for Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) personnel from entry to executive level. May travel to conduct training sessions at various Marine Corps field activities. May develop, conduct and administer training using criterion reference instruction methodology and modules, independent study, performance-based training, hands on, and/or lecture-based training. May prepare individual development plans to promote training on competencies based on communities of interest and job family requirements. Coordinates arrangements for training with appropriate functional areas to include: scheduling, room set up, administration of pre-class activities, publicity, preparing equipment and supplies, maintaining accountability of statistics (i.e., attendance, completion rate), entering training accomplishments in the human resources management information system, and completion of other post training activities deemed appropriate or required. Assists in developing guidelines, instructional methods, course materials and training aides using eLearning authoring software. Conducts training course evaluations, lessons learned process and provides input for course improvement. Assists in identifying, evaluating and accomplishing future training initiatives. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Travels to complete work assignments and conduct or attend conferences and meetings. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications Bachelor¿s degree from an accredited college or university in communication or a related field appropriate to the work of position AND three years of specialized experience in employee development/training for a large customer oriented organization that demonstrates knowledge and skill to plan, administer, and evaluate a wide range of training for a diverse group of employees, in a variety of job families, and at various levels of responsibility, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Experience in internal and external program marketing, to include web, interactive and social media strategy. Experience conducting virtual and webinar training is preferred but not required. Experience in preparing presentations using Microsoft Office Suite. Experience maintaining, executing, and reporting on budgets and financial status of expenses. Skill to conduct interviews, needs assessments, and surveys to identify training needs, evaluate training plans, and identify goals and objectives. Experience in development of tracks of training that complement overall human resources goals to attract, retain, and develop employees to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Skill to conduct training classes with a variety of content. Skill to analyze, evaluate and make recommendations to develop new approaches, modify work methods/procedures and promote new programming. Experience with MCCS Programs Directorate to include but not limited to Semper Fit, Marine Corp Family Team Building, Children Youth and Teen, Marine and Family Services desired but not required. Must be flexible, willing to cross-train, and have a passion for personal development and the development of others. Eligible for incremental telework as determined by MR/MF policy.
