If you’re interested in a long and rewarding career working with the industry’s best and most innovative engineers, then Jacobs is where you belong. We are looking for a curious and driven Treatment Process Engineer to work on water/wastewater projects in the Pacific Northwest.

As a Water/Wastewater Treatment Process Engineer in Portland, Oregon, you will lead work with a core group of engineers on studies, designs, and field assignments for clients across the pacific northwest region. Working with other members of our team, you'll evaluate and select the best treatment approach to solve a client’s challenges and plan and design treatment systems and plant improvements. Treatment and resource recovery assignments will be wastewater-focused but could also include work on potable water systems. Tasks would include technical studies, computer modeling, technical report writing, engineering design, and construction services support.

You will also have the opportunity to grow professionally through your participation with teams delivering challenging projects while serving and developing clients regionally and nationally. Jacobs has a strong technical water and wastewater treatment background, and you will have the opportunity to connect and collaborate with our technical experts across the company.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in in civil, environmental, or related engineering discipline

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or ability to obtain soon after hire

  • 3-5 years of experience in a water- or wastewater-related field

  • This is a hybrid position; candidates must be able to accommodate a mix of working from home and the Portland Office

  • Self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis skills, technical problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Master’s degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering discipline

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Wastewater process modeling experience (e.g. BioWin, Sumo)

  • Hydraulic modeling skills (e.g. Fathom, AutoPIPE)

  • Wet chemistry laboratory skills

  • Construction and facility operations experience
