Base Compensation Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually. This role offers an incentive plan

This role has been designated as Hybrid – Flex for your day .  While most work must be done on-site, there is flexibility to work remotely when workflow and priorities allow. *The Company reserves the right to modify this designation should business needs require.

JOB SUMMARY

Trane is looking for an experienced energy specialist to join its team in Portland, OR. In this exciting role you will provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers through performance and execution of Intelligent Service agreements and BAS retrofit projects. You will develop strong customer relationships with building owners, work in coordination with the Intelligent Service regional team, Pacific Northwest service teams, and direct sales teams in developing system solutions. Additionally, you will increase the Intelligent Services agreement contract base, energy projects and pull through business from these agreements, as well as leverage energy and BAS data to help customers meet their Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and lower utility costs, all while helping Trane meet its mission of reducing the energy intensity of the world.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fulfill contract obligations effectively, efficiently and within safety standards.

  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and develop new customer relationships.

  • Diagnose energy opportunities with customer’s facilities and promote energy projects with Account Managers that solve customer issues/opportunities

  • Teaming to meet or exceed the Intelligent services district goals

  • Collaborates with account managers often to develop account plans and assist in growing Intelligent Services, Turnkey , Service Quoted and Controls sales.

  • Collaborate with energy engineers to document value added to the customer.

  • Use BAS system data to diagnose and troubleshoot system performance issues. Develop solutions targeted to fix system issues to increase performance and reduce energy usage.

  • Attend and present customer consultation reports using BAS system data, automated fault detection and diagnosis (FDDs) and energy data.

  • Continually commission BAS systems using analytics and remote inspections of user interface (UI).

  • Set up Energy Management software for customers, train users, and leverage platform for remote energy monitoring.

  • Perform remote site analysis via modem or web access as needed.

  • Responsible for completing and turning in all service reports, inspection sheets, and timesheets in a timely manner

  • Work with customer IT professionals to establish connectivity to Trane cloud based software platforms.

  • Validate moderately complex DDC systems.

  • Plan forecasted work and schedule work as needed with the customer service teams

  • Maintain correspondence with customer service representatives daily to include all customer site visits

  • Maintain company vehicle cleanliness, tools, and safety equipment

  • Travel requirements are up to 25% travel, some overnight

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-Year College or technical school; four (4) to ten (10) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four year electrical or Mechanical Engineering / Design degree, preferred

  • Strong familiarity with the operation of Energy Management Systems, HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls required.

  • Experience with energy efficiency strategies in commercial buildings

  • Advanced knowledge in HVAC systems

  • Certified Energy Manager, preferred

Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years; Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
