The hospital's pediatric specialty program—accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)—offers feeding therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy, and speech therapy for infants, children and adolescents. St. Charles Hospital is home to the only Pediatric Brain Injury Unit on Long Island and is the only Pediatric Brain Injury Specialty Program in New York State accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). A team of clinicians, including pediatric therapists, psychologists and certified rehabilitation registered nurses, deliver the highest quality rehabilitation treatment and outcomes to help all children and their families thrive. The Registered Nurse on the Pediatric Acute Rehabilitation Unit will be responsible for managing the care of the infant, toddler, preschool, school age, and/or adolescent patients that are experiencing temporary, progressive, or permanent disabilities or illnesses that require rehabilitation services. Job Details Our RNs: Assess, monitor, administer medication, document progress, and overall management of care for the following patient populations: Pediatric Acute Rehab patients, Pediatric and Adult Medical-Surgical patients, and adolescent medical withdrawal (detox) patients Implement care strategies that promote physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health as patients learn to adapt to an altered lifestyle and/or regain self-care abilities. Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, Registered Nurses (RNs), and ancillary staff to design and ensure an efficient, seamless continuity of care that accurately reflects the patient's needs and expedites recovery. Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients and their loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support, and education. Qualifications: Passion for caring for a diverse patient population, including pediatrics 1+ Years of acute care nursing (RN) experience preferred Previous pediatric nursing experience preferred Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree strongly preferred Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration required Certification: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) & Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required Salary Range USD $49.39 - USD $58.04 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
