ESY will meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from June 4- July 25. There will be no ESY July 1-5.

Support staff hours: 7:15-11:15

Salary is individual regular rate of pay

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Note - these duties vary based upon the individual student needs and individualized education plans. Typical duties may include:

  1. Monitors students on district provided transportation and assists students getting on or off busses and vans.
  2. Accompanies students to the cafeteria for meals and assists students with getting and eating meals and cleaning up after meals.
  3. Accompanies students to classes or therapy services, monitors behavior (intervening as needed), and assists with classwork.
  4. Assists students with motor, balance, social and life skills.
  5. Assists students with personal care, including dressing, toileting and diapering.
  6. Monitors students during nap times.
  7. Cleans and maintains an efficient work area.
  8. Assists with instruction, errands and copies related to assigned student(s).
  9. Attends IEP and other meetings and trainings as requested.
  10. Alerts assigned teacher of concerns related to the student.
  11. Maintains confidentiality of student information.
  12. Complies with all federal, state and local laws, and board policies and procedures.
  13. Utilizes professional behavior in all school-related interactions.
  14. Assists teacher in monitoring students progress toward academic and behavioral IEP goals.
  15. Reinforces learning in small groups or with an individual student, while the teacher works with other students.
  16. Assists the teacher in observing, recording and charting behavior.
  17. Assists the teacher with crisis problems and behavior management.
  18. Provides one-on-one tutoring if it is scheduled at a time when a student would not otherwise receive instruction from a teacher.
  19. Scores objective tests and papers and maintains appropriate records for teachers.
  20. Carries out instructional programs designed by the teacher.
  21. Works with the teacher to develop classroom schedules.
  22. Operates and maintains classroom equipment.
  23. Takes over a class for a short period of time.
  24. Supervises children in the hallway, lunchroom, and playground.
  25. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.
