Robert Half Sr. Staff Accountant in Plantation, Florida

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Plantation, Florida. This role focuses on various accounting tasks, including financial reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting the month-end close process. This position is within the telecom industry and offers a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.

• Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.

• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information, resolve issues, and support cross-functional projects.

• Assist with external audits and provide support for audit inquiries and requests.

• Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, highlighting areas of concern or improvement.

• Oversee procurement, purchasing, buying and sourcing for office.

• Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

• Contribute to process improvements and initiatives to streamline accounting operations and enhance efficiency.

• Work with the CFO to ensure that Financial Guide is complete and updated to comply with all current regulations.

• Attend and participate in Board Meetings as needed.

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the CFO and Management Team. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations

• Demonstrable experience with general ledger and journal entries

• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel

• Experience in month-end close procedures

• Knowledge of fund accounting in non-profit environments

• Experience in grant accounting and grant management

• Ability to administer budgets and execute budgeting and forecasting tasks

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is desirable

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Familiarity with accounting software and systems
