Job Summary and Qualifications

• Supervises the performance of Laboratory personnel within specialized sections of the clinical laboratory. Orients and trains within these sections and performs testing as needed. Performs duties with a perceptive depth of clinical laboratory tests and procedures, which require the exercise of independent judgement and responsibility. Thorough knowledge of CAP, TJC, CLIA regulations. Assists Manager and /or Director with projects as needed.

• Supervises workflow and staff; educates and trains employees, maintains daily work schedule.

• Evaluates reagents, equipment, new test methods, QA and PI data.

• Has thorough knowledge of CAP, TJC, CLIA regulations as each relates to Laboratory functions.

• Participates in employee evaluations.

• Ensures that all policies and procedures are performed as defined in section policy and procedure manuals approved by the Medical Director of the Laboratory.

What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelors Degree

• Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Lab Scientist

• At least 5+ years experience in Microbiology

• Well versed in Plate reading and Sensitivity testing

• Meditech experience is required.
