Clinical Research Coordinator II

Rooted in ground-breaking tissue regeneration and biomaterial advances made at the University of Pittsburgh, the Center for Craniofacial Regeneration (CCR) develops treatments for wounds and defects of the face and skull that restore function and appearance. Representing many scientific disciplines and interests, our team is dedicated to exploring all aspects of the varied and complex craniofacial region. The Department of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences provides graduate, predoctoral and dental hygiene students with an educational foundation in the basic sciences, including instruction in microbiology, biochemistry, nutrition, anatomy, pharmacology, and physiology.

Job Summary

Conducts research assessments on study participants. Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Assists with training staff. Ensures adherence to protocols and corrects issues with data collection.

Essential Functions

Coordinate an active clinical research project and sample repository (Dental Registry and DNA Repository). Responsible for administrative oversight of the Dental Registry and DNA Repository project, managing Redcap database of participant medical information, manages clinical recruitment rotation, de-identifies private patient information, finds and interviews new staff to assist with subject recruitment and lab protocol, ensures internal quality assurance and documentation, and trains and manage student staff. Assists with training staff on proper and best study research techniques as directed. Mentors and educates staff and student workers as directed. Ensures proper protocols are followed and quality assurance of research and related work.

Physical Effort

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift min. 30lbs.
