ITW Group Leader - 2nd Shift, Piqua in Piqua, Ohio

Responsible for leading and coaching the manufacturing team to manage production processes. Group Leader must lead safety, 5S, quality, and productivity initiatives while operating equipment and/or performing material handling. 

Essential Functions:

  • Work with other Group Leaders and Production Coordinators to set up the shift and support the production schedule throughout all shifts

  • Operate assigned equipment or perform material handling functions, shipping and receiving, and oven operations

  • Provide troubleshooting on drawing and packaging equipment as needed

  • Offer support and training to others utilizing the route card system, submitting maintenance requisitions as warranted.

  • Assure that work instructions and plant procedures are followed consistently; offer improvements or suggest changes if necessary

  • Lead safety, quality, and 5S initiatives

  • Monitor productivity and downtime through route card usage

  • Ensure team members are following our Quality Management System. The Quality Management System complies with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015, CPR 305/2011, and EN 13479

  • Provide feedback and input into the operator’s annual performance review

  • Coordinate and help manage trainers and training activities for new hires and transfers 

  • Packaging and Draw Bench experience required to support troubleshooting

  • Possess strong leadership skills – including sound decision-making

  • Successful and demonstrated track record of building positive relationships with and between production personnel

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Mechanically inclined and able to read instruments, operate standard computer software, and use email

  • A team player who possesses an excellent attitude

  • Customer-focused and goal-oriented  

  • Interested in career development and growth
