    Job Summary

    The RN Nurse Supervisor, in collaboration with Director of Nursing and appropriate interdisciplinary team members, is responsible for assuring that services are provided in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner that enhances patient, staff, and physician satisfaction. The Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for the delivery of patient care, collaborating with the care team throughout the unit, mentoring new employees, mangaging and helping with admits, discharges and deliveries, managing day to day operations, enhancing quality measures, providing direction of activities for all staff members, education specific to the Emergency Room and policy management. The Nurse Supervisor is guided by professional nursing standards and will demonstrate effective leadership skills. Job responsibilities may include other duties as assigned by leadership.

    Education and/or Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Registered Nursing

  • Two years acute care RN experience required, 2 years ER experience preferred

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Current Licensure by South Dakota Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all patient care staff

  • PALS/ACLS/TNCC are required within 1 year of employment

  • Participates in educational opportunities and updates/maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.

  • Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services.

  • Assumes responsibility for professional development

    Work Schedule

  • Monday -Thursday: 7:00am-4:30pm, occasional weekend, occasional holiday, 72 hours every 2 weeks
