Responsibilities

The Informatics Nurse Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation, design, maintenance, and evaluation of clinical information systems used to support patient care delivery across the continuum. Manages and oversees Informatics projects and activities locally. Responsible for assigning tasks and providing direction, support, and expertise to the staff in the department. Serves as the liaison between providers, Nursing, and other care providers to attain optimal design of automated systems and processes pertaining to information technology. Actively participates in both local and enterprise governance committees. Facilitates change management process including revising workflows and standardizing policies to successfully implement automated systems. The Informatics Nurse Manager collaborates with Information Technology staff, nurses, physicians, and other disciplines to ensure the needs and issues related to clinical nursing information systems are clearly communicated. Identifies enhancements to existing technology to improve productivity and performance within care delivery settings.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing, or a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's degree in healthcare-related field. Will consider applicants meeting all other qualifications who commit to degree completion within six months from application date. Minimum five years of informatics experience and three years of experience in progressive leadership roles in a health care organization preferred. Evidence of advanced knowledge and competence in Informatics. Experience with EHR systems preferred. Ability to develop effective working relationships with a variety of individuals. Strong computer skills required. Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills required. Project management experience with prior experience in automation of healthcare systems preferred. Silver Certification in Quality Academy preferred.Current licensure/certification in healthcare field in applicable state. ANCC National certification in Nursing informatics required within one year of hire date.
