THE POSITION:
We're looking for a full-time entry-level Field Engineer. This role will support our VDC department primarily in the field, operating specialty equipment, including completing construction layouts on the total station, gathering and producing 360° photography reports, and gathering and producing thermal imaging reports. There will also be progressing in-office responsibilities involving training in and assisting with the various electrical designs and data on our jobsites. Must have construction field experience or related educational experience, a good attitude, willingness to learn new skills as our industry evolves and the ability to work with a team.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Reviews drawings and asserts changes based on field input from the VDC Engineer
Digitally track critical details to your scope of work
Ensure schedules and productivity objectives set by a supervisor for preparation of survey plats and drawings are achieved.
Assist with preparing preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys
Assist with verifying accuracy of field survey data including measurements and calculations conducted on survey projects.
Assist with quality control checks of layouts and construction prepared by other trades relevant to our scope.
Ensures the safety of personnel and equipment.
Operate a company vehicle and frequently transport and utilize specialty equipment between job sites.
Support the VDC Engineer in the field as required for field survey work primarily involving construction layout and other tasks.
Support the VDC Engineer in the field as required for 360° jobsite progress photography for all applicable projects.
Support the VDC Engineer in the field as required for thermal imaging captures and reporting for all applicable projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1+ year of field experience within the electrical field preferred
Technologically savvy, and willing to learn all technologies related to the department.
Must have a valid driver's license
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Enjoy being outside, and have good work ethic
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to operate motorized equipment
Pay for this position depends on experience, ranging from $22-$26 per hour.
