Job Description Summary

Develop and teach private and group swim lessons for the Penn community. Students range from infants to adults.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting clients in achieving their swimming goals

  • Providing support and encouragement when teaching skills

  • Meeting evaluation expectations

  • Maintaining awareness of the pool’s recreational swim hours

  • Keeping accurate records of lessons

  • Updating a client roster in google sheets regularly

  • Maintaining a courteous and polite demeanor

  • Timely communication with clients

  • Scheduling lessons with clients

  • Reading and responding to emails about available clients

  • Attending a swim instructor staff meeting once per semester

  • Sunday availability is a requirement

  • Completing report cards for group lessons participants

Qualifications:

Candidates for this position should have prior group or private lesson teaching experience. It is encouraged that they be former swimmers of any level and/or hold a swim lesson instructor certification; however, prior experience is not required. Candidates will be asked about their swim instruction knowledge and asked to swim. Candidates should be prepared to provide a resume and references upon request.

$7.25 - $22.00 Hourly Rate

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
