General Job Description: This is full performance technical and administrative safety work in a centralized safety office, or for a City Department with an established safety program for industrial settings. An employee in this class conducts regularly scheduled inspections to detect and document unsafe or unhealthy working conditions and to ensure compliance with governmental and accepted safety standards. The employee makes recommendations to reduce and eliminate hazards through policy, procedure or training.

The Requirements are as follows:

1. EDUCATION: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade.

AND

2.EXPERIENCE: Two years of safety experience providing technical or administrative support for a safety program in an industrial, military, or occupational safety environment.

*NOTE: *Completion of an associate's degree program in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering or a related field at an accredited college or university may substitute for the experience required.
