University of Pennsylvania Instructor of Pediatric Radiology at CHOP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Instructor positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of Pediatric Diagnostic Radiology. Applicants must be American Board of Radiology (ABR) Certified or Board eligible. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities may include the teaching of residents, medical students, and/or fellows including the development of research credentials and scholarships. Instructors are provided educational seminars to prepare them for an academic career.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop an individual training experience in research skills and teaching while developing a career in an academic setting.

Applicants must show evidence of additional professional training. Evidence of additional professional training may include:

  • Receipt or in pursuit of an NIH K Award or other Career Development Awards from foundations.

  • Training in basic science research related to a specific area. The applicant must have a demonstrated research focus in a specific area with a desire to start an independent career.

  • Development of expertise in teaching, administration, clinical research. Clinical activities will be related to additional training.

  • Candidates may be enrolled in additional training programs including Master's studies.
