The Health Analytic Consultant provides year-round strategic consultative services with an integrated focus on the UnitedHealthcare Value Story by diving deep into the analytics of health plan performance to further support UnitedHealth Group's position as a trusted advisor and carrier of choice.

If you are located in NE Region from Maryland to Maine, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports complex employer groups with 1000+ subscribers, generally within specific geographic areas

  • Extensive analysis and interpretation of complex healthplan performance analytics from multiple data sources

  • Synthesize complex datasets to understand risk and opportunity of proposed/implemented solutions in support of both short- and long-term customer strategic needs

  • Quantification of member and plan value of both in-force and recommended solutions

  • Presentation of these data-driven insights and solution proposals to senior level leaders of both external customers and internal business partners through storytelling

  • Develop strategic analytic deliverables focused on member impact and the value of UnitedHealth Group product & product integration, as well as member decision-making

  • Presentation of strategy at least twice a year with proactive client interactions throughout the year

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of enterprise-wide capabilities, products, and tools to meet customer-specific consultative analytic needs

  • Develop and foster relationships across highly matrixed organization at all levels of leadership to ensure alignment on priorities and goals, both on mutual clients and enterprise initiatives

  • Collaborate with AMTs and other internal business partners to solve complex customer analytic needs and serve as a strategic analytic subject matter expert

  • Deeply involved in the development and continuous improvement of consultative analytic value story, including providing feedback, suggestions, and solutions

  • Support consultative strategic needs in the RFP bid process for new business and renewals, where applicable

  • Negotiate complex and sensitive situations internally and externally, including non-negotiable timelines, with a win-win attitude

  • Communicates information openly and in an articulate and professional manner as a strategic consultative subject matter expert

  • Serves as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to internal and external customers, including senior leaders, on strategic consultative analytics related to healthcare cost and quality as well as integrated value of UnitedHealth Group products and services

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing role, preferably within a sales, account management, TPA, or consulting environment

  • Knowledgeable of healthcare cost and quality topics, as well as able to speak to emerging industry trends

  • Intermediate or higher skills within Office 365 applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated presentation skills, preferably with a director-level and higher audience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in data analytics, data science, or statistics

  • Demonstrated clear and concise written & verbal communication skills; successful virtual presentation experience

Travel

  • Travel may be required 25% of the time depending on customer needs.
