We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in Philadelphia, PA 19119! As a Certified Medical Assistant at Merakey Total Health, you will be part of a dynamic health care team that prepares patients for their visits, collecting, and recording necessary patient data, and ensuring our health center gives every patient a VIP experience. You will be expected to show kindness and compassion toward a population that has suffered from health disparities. Advocacy for our patients will become second nature for all. The Certified Medical Assistant will: Ensure efficient patient flow, room patients in a timely manner, complete vital signs, complete required screenings, and complete medication reviews. Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms. Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (Lab results, faxing records to specialists, etc.) In accordance with state regulations, administer vaccinations, perform point of care tests including but not limited to: A1C, spirometry, EKGs, blood draws for lab testing, etc. Import required documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload. Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations. Process orders for durable medical equipment, referrals, and prior authorizations. Provides patient education and counseling on smoking cessation, medication adherence. Request medical records from external providers as required by the provider. Participates in Quality Improvement plans and serves on internal committees. Participate in community outreach events that may occasionally be on weekends. As required, manages data logs and conducts routine quality control checks including infection control measures, equipment, and checks for expired medication and supplies and/or assists in maintaining center lab. Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program 1-3 years of experience as a certified medical assistant Experience working with populations with behavioral health and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred. High School diploma or GED Must be available to work: Monday- 8-4:30, Tuesday: 9-5:30, Wednesday: 9-7:30, Thursday: 8-4:30 , Friday 7-1:30
