This position, in the Bureau of Health Statistics and Registries, Division of Vital Records, supports the bureau's mission of managing a statewide registry for vital events and all vital records activities in the Philadelphia branch office. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Administrative Officer 1, you will oversee the operations of the Eastern Regional Office and perform duties related to fraud detection and prevention, as well as disaster planning. You will provide advice and counsel to the general public regarding the filing of birth and death records and certificates; examine and process a range of applications for vital event certificates; amend birth and death records; and register death cases. You will utilize firm and appropriate human relations skills to deescalate tense situations through daily interaction with consumers in the branch offices, and in addressing consumer complaints that cannot by resolved by subordinate staff. Additionally, you will plan, organize, and delegate work among staff; conduct site visits to other branch offices to review and improve operational efficiencies; and assure compliance with established procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
