Leisure Sales Manager

SUMMARY

The Leisure Sales Manager is responsible for the solicitation of new business from the retail travel agent market via telephone solicitation, outside sales calls requiring travel 1-2 times per month, site inspections and written communication (50% of time) and servicing the on property needs of VIP guests and top travel agency clients (50% of time).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide excellent customer service and telephone etiquette, and actively aspires to reach defined goals and objectives.

  • Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and client contact maintenance.

  • Participate in daily/weekly sales meetings, revenue management meetings and training.

  • Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to both transient and wholesale guests.

  • Moderate to extensive travel required.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.

  • Proven results handling guest services and will be capable of problem solving quickly

  • Organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges of supporting an extensive operation

  • Interact with Associates and guest alike, in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism

  • Expert level of written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are equally important.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school or equivalent education required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • At least 2 years sales experience in a luxury hotel

  • Moderate to extensive travel required

  • Exceptional guest recovery skills

  • Enjoy interacting with people in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and Opera

  • Must possess a positive attitude

  • Must be willing to participate in a learning environment

  • Must integrate company values throughout all interactions

  • Must be able to quickly adapt to effectively using new software products

  • Must be dependable and available to work within the resort on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs on a regular basis. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
