SOS International LLC Systems Operations Deputy in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

Overview

SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator/Systems Operations Deputy to join our team in Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Honolulu, Hawaii . The customer based out of Honolulu, Hawaii creates, manages, and supports IT solutions for our Customer, its mission and its 5,000+ customers throughout the Pacific theater. Our team solves challenging technical problems that enable USINDOPACOM to realize critical and time sensitive C2 strategies.

Essential Job Duties

Serve as a systems administrator and Systems Operations Deputy. Reports to the Systems Operations Lead, and provide planning and oversight to the administrators within the Systems Operations team. Leads and directs a group of systems administrators, analysts, and technicians to ensure systems capabilities are readily available, properly monitored and maintained, and secured in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) regulations. Enterprise systems capabilities include, but not limited to, authentication, account management, identity management, attribute based access control, file/print, exchange, chat, name resolution, time synchronization and virtual infrastructure. Functions as the Systems Operations Person-In-Charge when the Systems Operations Lead is unavailable or away. Supports the Systems Operations Lead with the following job duties and responsibilities:

  • Identifies and prioritizes systems duties, tasks and assignments. Coordinates internal and external resources relevant to systems-related initiatives. Manages systems-related responsibilities to team.

  • Continuously aware of operational status of Enterprise systems and related effects. Communicates status and changes to organization leadership, Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) and interested parties.

  • Ensures incidents regarding Enterprise server-infrastructure and related core-services (e.g., authentication, file/print, exchange, databases, web/portal services, etc.) are tracked and resolved. Acts as a point of incident escalation and coverage. Manages proper communication, correction and response.

  • Participates in Enterprise engineering, analysis and solution development, especially as it relates to solution implementation, systems operations and maintenance.

  • Evaluates new services, technologies, software, tools, and devices that may improve abilities to proactively monitor performance and remediate concerns.

  • Performs supervisory and administrative oversight of managed personnel. Provides recruiting, on boarding, direction/guidance, training, and assessment of system administrators, analysts and technicians.

  • Assess current work processes and propose recommendations that would improve Systems Operations work efficiencies.

  • Validates SOPs and TTPs associated with current knowledge of relevant systems technologies. Regularly collects and summarizes pertinent systems accomplishments, issues and concerns.

  • Identifies and validates Request for Information (RFI’s) for organization leadership and Government customer(s).

  • Participates in and provides feedback to systems-relevant special projects.

  • Ensures compliance of custody and ownership of Government equipment and related components.

Minimum Requirements

  • An Active in-scope SECRET clearance.

  • Prior supervisory experience. Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

  • DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or 5+ years of experience in systems administration and enterprise IT service center operations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in IT systems administration, troubleshooting and support.

  • Extended knowledge of modern operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and related security configuration.

  • Experienced in implementing and supporting VDI/Virtual Environments and solutions (e.g., Citrix, VMware, Azure Cloud/Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV).

  • Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.

  • Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT Certification (e.g., Cisco, Citrix, Dell, HP, ITIL 4 Foundations, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, VMware)

  • Well-versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures and regulations.

  • Familiarity with C2 applications and program support.

  • Prior IT Service Management (ITSM) software experience (e.g., Jira, Remedy, ServiceNow).

  • Awareness or experience in ITIL 4 framework and best practices.

  • May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends.
