Human Performance Apprentice

Job Summary:

To Aid HP staff with day-to-day operations & implementation of strength, conditioning & recovery programming (primary Football) for all intercollegiate athletic teams. Lead organizer of student employees & their schedules This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

Duties/Physical Demands:

Duties include, but are not limited to: • Understanding of basic: Scientific based development of Individual & Team Specific programs, which aid in correction of movement patterns, increased physical durability & overall athletic performance (Speed-Agility Plyometric Training, Strength Training, Mobility-Flexibility Training, and sound conditioning exercises) for teams assigned. • Assist in overall growth & implementation of Human Performance & Wellness standards throughout the department • Assist with Nutritional needs & distribution of product • Assist / oversee in maintaining of strength and conditioning facility(s) and equipment. • Assist with Student employee development & management. • Assist Human Performance Staff in covering team/Individual workouts when necessary. • Basic knowledge in use of Excel, Word or other technology for development & tracking of Athlete(s) programs-progress. • Participating in ICA department activities / committed to the vision of Graduating Champions • Maintaining knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, NCHA, MAC and University rules and regulations, that apply to the areas of strength and conditioning. • Maintaining / increase knowledge & CEU's for all certifications required • All Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree • Some experience with coaching & training collegiate Athletes • CPR/AED Certified

• Applicants must indicate they are working toward certification in this field

Desired Qualifications:

• CSCS or SCCC Certified • Master's degree in related discipline
