  • Experience conducting environmental compliance or cultural resources support at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

  • Appropriate degrees or certifications relevant to the position.

  • Capable of conducting environmental field investigations related to position.

  • Valid state driver’s license and US Citizenship are required for unescorted access to Fort Knox.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite for the development of supporting environmental analyses.

  • Experience in using GIS software such as ArcGIS.

  • Ability to gather facts, analyze and compare trends, draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems, and identify changes and trends related to comprehensive planning issues.

  • Ability to communicate effectively informal briefings and in general public meetings, and to prepare clear and concise written materials appropriate for different audiences.

  • Candidate must be able to pass a background check to gain access to Army installations, IT systems, and for the issuance of a government issued Common Access Card.

Job Description

This position is located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The primary objective of this position is to provide scientific and technical skills pertaining to the implementation of the environmental compliance and cultural resources programs, including but not limited to water quality, air quality, hazardous materials, hazardous waste management, and cultural resources. This work will involve the completion of field and administrative tasks, interacting with the public, and the collection and management of environmental data.

Job Duties

The position shall provide technical support for cultural resources organization and research of historical buildings/sites inventory through inventories, site evaluations, and monitoring of historic sites and structures at Fort Knox. The Partner shall also provide Archaeological inventories (Phase I), evaluation (Phase II), and mitigations (Phase III ) in accordance with National Historic Preservation Act ( NHPA ) Sections 106 and 110 and Kentucky State Historic Preservation Officer ( SHPO ) guidelines surveys.
