Universal Health Services RN SUPERVISOR/PART-TIME in ORLANDO, Florida

University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds.

The Nursing Supervisor provides administrative and clinical supervision to all nursing staff throughout the hospital on assigned shift. The Nursing Supervisor is a liaison to department directors and administration to insure coordinated and efficient operations of services and departments. The Nursing Supervisor promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of University Behavioral Center.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives.

This is a PT position (Mon-Fri from 3pm-7pm)

Job Duties:

  • Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff to implement patient care..

  • Meets nursing operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.

  • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.

  • Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests

  • Managing medication schedules and ensuring communication with the medical team to avoid medication errors

  • Encouraging all staff to adhere to the highest standards in patient care and conducting regular staff reviews

  • Communicating with patients and their family members as needed, and offering emotional support and compassionate care to patients and families in distress

  • Managing patient and employee records with a focus on following HIPAA regulations and quality standards

  • Providing a direct line of communication between patients, nursing staff and physicians

    Qualifications

    Education: Graduate of a nursing program required. BSN Preferred.

    Experience: Three years clinical experience with inpatient behavioral health population and previous clinical supervisory role in psychiatric setting preferred.

    Licensure/Certification: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. BLS Provider certification through the American Heart Association.

    Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing principles, working concepts and theory, leadership skills, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management.
