Grundfos Regional Sales Manager in Orlando, Florida

What is the job about?

For a defined regional area (Geography, Markets, and Accounts) the Regional Sales Manager’s (RSM) role is to provide leadership and management for their respective team and to ensure that Grundfos is delivering on the financial goals and objectives. In addition, the RSM will maximize value throughout the channel, directing activities and process improvement in accordance with the Voice of the Customer (VOC). The RSM will focus on the development of their team as well as the individual professional development of their team members. The RSM reports to the Vice President / Business Unit Director and participates as an active member of the leadership staff for the business unit to which they are assigned. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities :

Leadership:

  • The RSM is accountable to deliver profitable sales growth as defined in the annual budget and strategic plan for their APR.

  • The RSM will be an active member of the leadership staff for their respective business units and will participate in the development of the business unit’s strategic plan. The RSM will lead the execution of the defined business unit strategies for their respective APR.

  • The RSM will be responsible for the development of and execution of a 5-year strategic sales plan for their respective APR.

  • The RSM will provide leadership and direction to District Sales Managers (DSM’s) and other subordinates assigned to their APR.

  • The RSM will mentor their assigned subordinates to enhance their skills and competencies, emphasizing continuous improvement in their professional development for their respective roles.

  • The RSM will ensure that subordinates meet assignment deadlines, including, but not limited to, monthly reports, expense reports, budgets, call reports, market plans, special assignments, etc.

  • The RSM may directly manage key accounts from time to time.

Management:

The RSM is expected to manage their Area of Primary Responsibility with a process focus and in coordination with Grundfos Sales Excellence guidelines. As part of the leadership team for their assigned Business Unit and the Regional Sales Team this will include but is not limited to:

  • New customer acquisition utilizing business analytics.

  • Accounts Receivables.

  • Expense management and reporting.

  • Sales promotions and programs.

  • Channel/Partner, selection, management, and evaluation.

  • Sales and Expense forecasting and budgeting.

  • Overall reporting.

  • Sales lead handling and tracking.

  • Strategic planning utilizing business analytics.

Reporting / Time Management:

  • CRM Notes of Activity: The RSM is responsible for ensuring accurate and dedicated maintenance of CRM account details for the accounts assigned to their APR.

  • Expense Reporting: The RSM is responsible for managing the overall expense budget for their regions in accordance with specific Grundfos policies and procedures.

  • Results Reporting: The RSM will prepare a monthly report in accordance with specific Grundfos policies and procedures.

  • Personnel Reporting: The RSM will participate in the Professional Development Dialogue (PDD) process and at a minimum, complete an annual PDD review for each direct report.

  • Time Management: Effectively utilize their Microsoft Outlook calendar for their own Time Management & Organization (TMO) and ensure each of their direct reports executes the same for a minimum thirty (30) day window.

  • Other: Additional reports may be required from time to time.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in a sales/marketing business environment with a preferred degree in Business / Technical BA. Requires a minimum of 3 years prior experience managing people. MBA a plus.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written formats.

  • Understanding of profit and loss accounting and the basic flow of revenue in an organization.

  • Ability to start with “the end in mind”, then work backwards to develop strategies, action plans, and goal measurements. Develop a clear vision of what their region will become and how their DSM’s will develop.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of pumps and pumping systems including electronically controlled pump systems for the target markets to which they are assigned.

  • Professional sales skills to the “trainer” or “mentor” level with knowledge and ability to apply PDJA instructed principles and concepts.

  • Ability to make business presentations at all levels of management and to various sizes of audiences.

  • Excellent PC skills with above average knowledge and use of Microsoft Office application programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) as well as strong aptitude for learning and applying new systems and programs.

  • Be open to and manage change.

  • Ability to lead and develop a team-based sales department.

  • Process orientation with certification in Six Sigma to the Green Belt level a plus.

  • Ability to travel 50%-75%, including overnights and weekends.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

  • Must retain a valid U.S. Passport.

  • The ability tooperate remotely.
