IT Director Of R&D needed in Orem, UT 

 

Job Duties:

  1. Drive and lead the design and development of front-end and back-end software systems with focus on execution and deliverables.-Define the overall vision for the project, identify the objectives and expected outcomes, create a roadmap that outlines the different stages and milestones; -Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and produce outside-the-box problem-solving techniques; Work with stakeholders to determine the functional and technical requirements for the project; -Lead a team of Software Engineers as well as graphic designers and web developers, tasked with designing and implementing critical features for our products; Perform as cross functional team leadership to prioritize and align strategy and engineering goals while holding the overall team to the highest standards of software best practices and standards; -Monitor the project's progress and adjust course as needed; Regularly review and analyze metrics, such as development velocity and quality, to identify areas for improvement; -Drive and lead the design and development of front-end and back-end software systems while maintaining focus on execution and deliverables.

  2. Analyze organization's needs while identifying tools and technologies to enable creative and differentiated solutions. -Identify the weakness in the current security and surveillance solutions we provide, such as flaws in functionality, performance, user experience, or cost. -Conduct research on emerging tools and technologies to include technologies related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and data analytics.

  3. Creating user interactions on web pages. -Define user requirements; -Design user interface. This includes creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that outline the layout, structure, and functionality of the web page; -Choose the appropriate tools and technologies to implement the desired interactions; -Develop user interactions; -Test and refine those tests. This involves testing the interactions with users to identify any issues or areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments; -Deploy software after development, testing and refinement to the production environment and provide ongoing support to ensure that it functions correctly.

  4. Developing Application Programming Interfaces (APis). -Identify the functions that the API needs to perform, as well as any security and authentication requirements; -Write code to implement the defined endpoints and methods, as well as any necessary authentication and security features; -Work with graphic designers and web developers to define project requirements based on the needs of the organization and the target audience; - Create design specifications that outline the visual and functional elements of the project, such as wireframes, mockups, and style guides.

  5. Lead the development of servers and databases. -Analyze our business' requirements for servers and databases and design the database schema accordingly. -Select the appropriate database management system. -Lead the development of server-side scripts that interact with the database as well as the client-side applications; -Monitor and optimize performance of the servers and databases as necessary. 

  6. Staying up-to-date with industry developments. -Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and techniques that can help improve the company's software solutions; -Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

     

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a very closely related field, plus 60 months experience in a Senior/Director Engineering Management position is required. Salary is $139,818 per year.
