Express Employment Site Director - Float in Olympia, Washington

This is an evaluation to hire opportunity, starting out through Express with the goal of being hired on as an official YMCA staff member after the evaluation period. This is a part time position averaging 32 hours per week. The hours will vary from site to site but this is a Split Shift and will require before and after school care. An example of the schedule might be 7AM-8:30AM & 2:45PM-6PM. One day a week the afternoon shift will be longer to support the early release day so it may be 1:55PM-6PM that day.

 

Pay rate starts at $22/hr or would start at $23.50/hr for a Site Director Float position. A float person will be required to be flexible and willing to drive to any site as needed and will be working at a different site each day depending on the needs.

 

Part Time Benefits include paid sick time, one paid floating holiday per calendar year and complementary individual membership to the South Sound YMCA which includes access to their facilities and online resources as well as discounts on registrations for fee-based programs.

 

Job Duties:

  1. Supervise staff/volunteers or assist site director to provide a safe and healthy environment and a quality program
  2. Maintain cooperative, supporting relationships with children, parents/guardians, school and other YMCA staff
  3. Maintain program operations and facility in accordance with all state licensing regulations and YMCA requirements. Immediately report any problems to assigned Program Director
  4. Turn in completed paperwork by required deadlines
  5. Attend required and appropriate trainings and staff meetings
  6. Read and follow the guidelines of the policy manual and licensing and evaluation standards.
  7. Dress in clean, neat clothing appropriate for indoor and outdoor educational and recreational activities in accordance with standards set by the YMCA personnel policy
  8. Maintain site in accordance with school district standards by doing such custodial duties as necessary to leave the general space, restrooms, sinks, halls, playground in clean, orderly condition.
  9. Maintain accurate time and attendance records through Paycom system
  10. Work in the function of a Group Leader as well by planning and maintaining supplies, monitoring the whereabouts of the children at all times, bringing situations which may evolve into serious problems to the attention of the Site Director immediately, reporting all injuries and filing incident reports for any incidents related to behavior, injury, etc.

     

Job Requirements:

  • Must be conscientious, creative, and willing to direct children and take initiative when needed.
  • Must be able and willing to develop positive, authentic relationships with children and adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience working with children or in a leadership role and 2 verifiable references from this experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have experience planning activities and leading others
  • Must have a minimum of 12 college credits and current plans to increase that each year, or a total of at least 30 college credits already completed.
  • Reliable vehicle and drivers license
