National Home Care Service, LLC RN Intake/Assessment Coordinator in Okemos, Michigan

Job Overview and Responsibilities

      Intake nurses do the initial evaluation of incoming clients to determine the severity of their illnesses and the intensity of services needed, with supervisory visits to the client's home every 6 months.  The nurse will be the first caregiver that will spend a significant amount of time with the clients while admitting/intake client's paperwork that comply with applicable laws and regulations.

*Job Conditions and Qualifications *

     A Bachelor degree in Health Administration or similar field of study is preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum of a years of in-home care experience preferred. 

      Required to be a Health Care Professional with training and experience in health service administration.

     One year of supervisory or administrative experience needed in-home care, private duty environmental support or related health programs.

     Must meet initial and ongoing requirements as stipulated by the State of Michigan.

     This position maybe stressful in terms of meeting deadlines.

     Must be willing to travel 2 hours distance or further for out of state meetings and state seminars or conferences as needed.

     Must have the ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.

     It is primarily a desk job that essentially involves sitting, standing, stooping and walking as well as an inordinate amount of telephone communication.

     Must be familiar with office equipment and with the knowledge of how to utilize a computer, printer/fax machine, mufti-line telephone. 

     Respects confidentiality with having access to all consumer records and consumer financial accounts, personnel records and which may be discussed with all management staff, including the Governing Body.
