Conference Assistants for the Housing & Residence Life Department will have the following responsibilities Training and information will be provided.Required training will be held during the day between May 20-31. Attend and complete all required training sessions.Welcome guests and complete check-in and check-out procedures for conference guests and visitors.Perform customer service functions during scheduled shifts.Typical duties include answering questions about the campus and local points of interest,campus locations,hours of operation,answering phones,taking messages,and general office duties.Assist with verifying guest lists,and room assignments,issuing keys,and verifying key returns according to university policies regarding key and access control.Conference Assistants may be asked to assist the full-time and contracted custodial staff with room preparation if needed. These duties typically include taking out trash,stocking supplies in suites (toilet paper,hand soap),and some light cleaning when needed.Conduct walkthroughs of Housing facilities before and after check-in and check-out of each group to ensure the facilities are clean,furniture and equipment are accounted for,and in their correct space,equipment is functioning correctly,and noting any damage or maintenance concerns,submitting work orders and documenting accordingly.Serve as a part of an on-call rotation,including conducting regularly scheduled rounds of the facilities; noting and reporting maintenance and security issues,responding to emergencies,addressing and reporting safety and behavioral concerns,and providing conference guest services i.e. lock-outs,equipment check out,etc.Perform additional conference-related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
