UL, LLC Benefits Specialist in Northbrook, Illinois

This role is HYBRID, on-site 3 days a week at the Northbrook, IL Office.

The role of a Benefits Service Specialist is to provide top-quality service to employees about their benefits inquiries and related processes. Provides expertise and solutions as an answer to employees’ requests regarding benefits and ensures effective communication through the HR Service Desk case management platform. The Benefits Service Specialist engages employees about their benefits, provides direct support, improves their experience, and creates substantive articles on benefits that promote the culture of employee self-service. Works closely with benefits providers and the benefits team to analyze processes and recommend improvements that increase employee experiences and service efficiency.

  • Responsible for delivering efficient HR solutions with a strong focus on resolving employee benefits inquiries and other HR requests leveraging Service Now’s HR Service Desk.

  • Promptly and thoroughly responds to inquiries within agreed SLAs while maintaining high confidentiality, customer satisfaction, and service excellence.

  • Assists employees with systems navigation, finding forms and form submissions, and guiding them to knowledge articles and other supporting documents that drive a solid self-service culture and an excellent employee experience.

  • Collaborates with other HR functions to address tasks and provide the best solutions for employees.

  • Regularly reviews inquiries to improve the content of knowledge articles, processes, operational activities, etc.

  • Prepares drafts of knowledge articles on benefits to increase employee self-service.

  • Educates on the range of benefits and related policies.

  • Interacts with vendors and escalates identified issues.

  • Proposes process changes to increase employees' experience.

  • Provides ongoing feedback on the efficiency and effectiveness of the customer service process.

  • Supports the development and execution of HR projects and initiatives

Qualifications for Internal Candidates

  • A university degree in HR Administration, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Generally, 3 years of experience in Benefits Administration.

  • Very good knowledge of US Benefits and related practices.

  • Communicate professionally, friendly, and patient to all employees and staff.

  • Maintain a positive attitude in a high-volume request environment.

  • Expertise in working with HR Service Desk platforms including managing and responding to cases and utilizing knowledge management.

  • Excellent writing skills
