Stark State College PT Student Services Assistant in North Canton, Ohio

Our part-time student services assistant position provides excellent customer service via phone and/or email pertaining to, admissions, registration, academic/workforce programs, financial aid, placement testing, and other student service related questions. This position is often a first point of contact for Stark State College so candidates with stellar customer service and communication skills are welcome. Typical Hours of Work: (up to 29 hours per week) Typical hours*: Mon, Wed & Thur 10:30am until 4:30pm & Fri from 8:00am to 4:30pm * Our hours of work are based on enrollment needs, and are subject to change. PLEASE NOTE: For the first 8 weeks the training in this position will take place at our main campus. After a successful training period, the Student Support Assistant position will be a remote/hybrid (work from home) position with one day a week scheduled in the North Canton office. Typical Responsibilities Include: Serve as a first point of contact to students with the highest levels of customer service and accuracy.Guide and assist students/parents through the process associated with applying to the College, registration process, applying for financial aid, and completion of all necessary paperwork.Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, institutional policies and College computer systems.Resolve inquiries by phone and/or email with students, faculty/staff and other College campus community members. To be Considered You'll Need: High School Diploma or GED is required along with a minimum of one year of customer service experience. Preferred Qualifications (although not required): Associate's Degree in Office Management, Business, Accounting, Communications, or related field is preferred. Experience in a higher education environment is desired. At least one year of high volume phone work experience is preferred.
