Req# 28448 Aultman Health Foundation, NORTH CANTON, OH AULTMAN MEDICAL GROUP INC Aultman Health Foundation Full Time, Day Shift, 4 - 10 hr days; no weekends or holidays $5,000 LPN SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE WITH A 1-YEAR COMMITMENT JOB TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Provides professional nursing care under supervision for clinic patients. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to Department Coordinator. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Duties performed in this position include but are not limited to the following: 1. Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. 2. Assists with the preparation of equipment, and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. 3. Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Administers prescribed medications as directed. 4. Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Maintains timely flow of patients. 5. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instruct patients in collection of samples and tests. 6. Arranges for patient testing and admissions. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medication and treatment instructions. Formulates and updates patient care plans. Orders, prepares, and inspects patients charts. Posts test and examination results. Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. 11. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. 12. Maintains patient confidentiality. 13. Performs related work as required per department. Comply with all statutory and regulatory policies and procedures KNOW HOW: Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients. Knowledge of patient education principles to develop a self-care program. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in administering a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Skill in using various types of equipment for examination and treatment procedures. Skill in taking vital signs. Skill in maintaining records and writing reports. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapts, and applies guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires sitting, standing, and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
