Aerotek Service Electrician in Newport News, Virginia


Summary:

Aerotek is accepting applications to fill a Service Electrician opening in the Hampton Roads area, A service electrician is responsible for installation

of small electrical project and troubleshooting of existing electrical systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be expected to be able to perform various types of maintenance and repair on all types of electrical systems below 600V. Provide installation of new electrical systems in accordance with customer , the NEC and safety standards. Coordinate and communicate project need with management. Comply with Company Safety procedures.

Education and Experience

· High School Diploma required

· Technical trade school or equivalent experience

· Possess a current VA Journeyman or Masters License.

Skills and Other Qualifications

· Must be able to troubleshoot and solve problems independently

· Must be driven, honest and a self starter

· Must be able to mentor apprentices and helpers

· Must have excellent communication skills and be able to give verbal/written reports of job status, equipment/supplies needed.

· Must be clean, neat, well mannered and well organized

· Must have an excellent driving record and have a valid driver’s license.

· Must have good computer skills and be comfortable with Microsoft software to include Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, and Adobe (PDF’s).

· Must be able to follow directions and work under limited supervision

· Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality and safety.

Work Conditions:

· Electricians are required to work in various weather conditions (heat, rain, snow, high humidity, etc.)

· Frequently work near moving mechanical parts.

· Lifting and carrying heavy objects, up to 75lbs, will be required.

· Ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, stairs, ramps, platforms and in/out of truck.

· Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a keyboard.

· Sitting or kneeling for long periods of time may be required

· Sometimes moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet to enter confined spaces.

Additional Info:

· Previous OSHA 10/30 training a plus
