Position Description

Maintains and administers SQE management systems, documentation, programs and policies.

Supports General Manager to achieve SQE goals by reviewing incidents, identifying root cause(s)

and tracking implementation of solutions.

Position Requirements:

Administers and analyzes annual employee SQE surveys to assess progress in developing a mature SQE culture.

Solicits, collects, and reviews Variances submitted by employees and presents to SQE Committee members for consideration for Variance of the Month award.

Logs, assigns, tracks and follows-up on Variances received until corrections are made.

Ensures that employees demonstrating excellence in Safety, Quality and Environmental are appropriately recognized.

Reviews significant incidents and/or post accident investigation results to ensure immediate cause(s) and root cause(s) have been identified and tracks the implementation of short and long-term solutions.

Ensures appropriate management systems necessary for operational excellence (written procedures, job hazard analyses, personal protective equipment, equipment checklists, etc.) are established and in use.

Monitors and supports MBWA with departmental managers, and schedules and leads field walkthroughs with Bi-Weekly SQE Committee members, for purposes of identifying potential unsafe operational hazards within the facility.

Discuss changes and/or proposed changes within the facility that may have an impact regarding safety to operations/maintenance activities.

Supports the General Manager in developing weekly GM Notes and SQE Call reports for his review.

Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Must have high level of initiative.

Ability to comfortably interact with employees at all levels.

Position Requirements

Must have ability to effectively organize, prioritize and plan daily work in an unstructured work environment.

Must have ability and willingness to work with a team, take directions from supervisor(s), with a high degree of attention to details, follow work rules and adhere to established work schedules.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers. Possess organization and planning skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Must be capable of developing and revising practical and effective company procedures, standards, processes and best practices.

Must be accountable and manage activities to keep required work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow policies and procedures.

Must have strong analytical skills and logical thought processes.

Must be self motivated and able to follow through on assigned task with minimal direction.

Must be able to focus on work, through day to day distractions.

Must have exceptional interpersonal skills and be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment, consistently maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor / attitude with co-workers, contractors, customers and regulatory agencies.

Must have intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
