Climax Portable Machine Tools Senior Financial Accountant in Newberg, Oregon

Position: Senior Financial Accountant

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Location: Newberg, Oregon

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant prepares and maintains financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares monthly balance sheet and income statement journal entries.

  • Reconciles GL accounts, including complex and intercompany accounts as assigned and teams with others to resolve reconciling items as needed

  • Support month end process and closing of the books

  • Assists with month end reviews and trend analysis

  • Research and analyze complex financial and accounting results and issues

  • Assists with department expense discussions of budget to actuals as assigned

  • Fixed asset accounting and tracking of capital expenditure projects in progress

  • Assist in driving departmental process improvements

  • Assist in driving operational process improvements

  • Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

  • Handles stress in a professional manner, demonstrates the ability to get along with others, demonstrates successful attendance and punctuality, and works overtime / extra hours as required to meet business needs.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP system knowledge

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

  • At least five years of related experience required

  • Manufacturing industry experience highly preferred

  • Experience handling multi-tier consolidations and currency conversions highly preferred

  • CPA preferred

Office and travel have moderate noise levels. Machine/Product demonstrations and customer visits can have loud noise levels.
