SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and reconciliation of assigned division(s). This position serves as a business partner to assigned division(s), and is responsible

for timely completion of all financial reports and serves as the first point of contact to other departments.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Monitor division activities and resolve and reconcile issues as needed.

• Identify errors or misclassifications and correct them, as needed; provide recommendations to avoid future errors.

• Monitor inventory, identify any issues and correct them; recommend improvements to avoid future issues.

• Assist with the preparation of company financial documents; prepare summary reports on variances, and complete final division financial documents for Division VP.

• Serve as the first point of contact for Division leadership regarding all financial information, provide guidance and recommendations as needed.

• Ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions; accurate preparation, completion, and distribution of financial reports and financial statements; and consolidation of various

accounting reports and records.

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 2-year Associate degree in accounting or finance, or related area, required; 4-year degree desired.

• Working experience in producing financial schedules and reports; experience in retail or fuel industries desired.

• Forecasting and budgeting experience desired.

• Accounting software (ERP) experience desired.

• CRM software experience desired.

• Intermediate Excel and Word.

WORK AUTHORIZATION
