Description

Reliable, national services company is looking to hire a Staff Accountant with previous public accounting experience. In this Staff Accountant role, the duties will consist of handling general accounting operations such as: assisting with accounts payable/receivable activities, reviewing general ledger accounts, assisting with account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, support regulatory compliance, reviewing financial statements, assisting with bank reconciliations, and participating in the development and tracking of budgets. The ideal candidate for this role should have great problem-solving skills, proven GAAP knowledge and/or regulatory/utility/FERC/SEC reporting or energy industry experience skills.

Everyday Responsibilities

· Support daily accounting functions

· Month End/Year End Close

· Prepare journal entries

· Monitor and analyze general ledger accounts

· Database Management

· General ledger account reconciliation

· Ensure compliance with SOX control requirements

· Assist with documentation for annual audit process

· Review performance projections

· Ad hoc special projects as requested

Requirements

The ideal Staff Accountant will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

Other requirements for the Staff Accountant role include and are not limited to:

· 2+ years of public accounting experience

· CPA preferred

· Big 4 experience preferred
