New York Life’s AI & Data team delivers innovative data, insights and AI solutions for the organization. The VP AI & Data Product Management will have the opportunity to start a brand-new AI & Data Product Management team and serve on the leadership team of the organization’s Chief Data & Analytics Officer.

You will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of cutting-edge artificial intelligence and data products that solve real-world problems and create value for our customers, agents and employees. These AI & Data Products include the company’s enterprise data assets (e.g. Client360) as well as analytical engines (e.g. Next Best Action).

By establishing an AI & Data Product practice that adeptly synthesizes the strategic multi-year requirements of multiple enterprise stakeholders into a cohesive roadmap that is delivered with confidence, you will help lead the realization of the organization’s AI & Data strategy.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business partners, product owners, data scientists, and engineers across the organization to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI and data initiatives

• Partner with other senior leaders, business units, and stakeholders to understand their data needs, challenges, and opportunities, and provide data-driven insights and recommendations

• Prioritize use cases for AI and data innovation, and evaluate the feasibility, impact, and ROI of potential projects

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product managers, ensure high-quality delivery of AI and data solutions

• Continuously evaluate and support data and AI assets; ensure that data and AI assets are regularly evaluated for their effectiveness, relevance, and alignment with the company's goals and customer needs.

• Communicate and evangelize the value and benefits of AI and data products to internal and external audiences, and solicit feedback and input to improve user satisfaction and adoption

• Establish and maintain best practices and standards for AI and data product development, including data governance, data quality, data security, data and AI ethics

• Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the AI and data domain, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership of a successful AI or Data Product organization

• Passionate about AI and data innovation, and driven by curiosity, creativity, and customer-centricity

• Effective problem solver, able to achieve results individually and through others, in fast paced, deadline-driven environments

• Talent-focused leader, with demonstrated ability to coach, build and lead a high performing, diverse team and delivering complex and impactful AI and data projects

• An agile learner, with a growth mindset, attention to detail and organizational skills

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

• Deep knowledge and expertise in data engineering, data analytics, data visualization, artificial intelligence, and machine learning,

• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, and ability to translate business problems and customer needs into data-driven solutions

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field

• 10+ years of experience in developing and delivering AI and data products, solutions, and services, preferably in a leadership role

• Insurance industry experience a plus
