A strategically important part of our charter is to drive adoption across a portfolio of self-service, cost per click advertising products to enable head to tail advertisers to engage with customers in relevant ways. Within our growing Amazon Ads Marketing organization, we are seeking an experienced Sr Marketing Manager to join our Global Small Business (SMB) Brand and Event marketing team. This leader is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that work backwards from the needs of SMB customers and drive awareness of our advertising solutions and supporting programs. The Sr. Manager will accomplish this by deeply understanding our product portfolio, develop comprehensive marketing strategies, and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns to support their vision. The right candidate will be collaborative, results oriented, relentlessly focused on the customer, has the ability to make tough decisions/trade-offs, and executes with high standards. They will be passionate about owning a new initiative and able to manage stakeholder feedback, develop goals based on inputs, and track success by standing up mechanisms and creating metrics. The Sr. Marketing Manager will report out on program health regularly to key stakeholders and partner teams across the Amazon Ads organization.

This is a cross-functional role that requires close partnership across Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Ad Product and Tech, and Legal/PR. Success in this role requires having a passion for SMBs, as well as a strong backbone, great communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to deal with a significant amount of ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities

  • Responsible for campaign strategies and creative briefs that articulate insights that will inspire creative teams, and provide measurable creative and content strategies

  • Lead campaign framework development to inform creative briefs, channel strategies, analytics and measuring success, and creative strategies for brand marketing and tent pole initiatives

  • Responsible for execution and implementation of marketing strategies that support the SMB marketing work.

  • Connect the dots between business goals, customer insights, marketing strategies, and creative development

  • Conduct, analyze, and synthesis customer and market research to inform brand and marketing outputs

  • Identify customer insights and brand opportunities to drive consistent, high-bar creative which positively shift perceptions and grows our business

  • Manage multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic, culture.

  • Collaborate and build relationships with marketing stakeholders to effectively deliver on shared goals and programs

  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive creative culture that enables world-class creative development

  • Develop mechanisms, processes, and metrics to measure success

About the team

The global SMB (Small and Medium Businesses) marketing team serves sales unmanaged advertisers globally. Our mission is twofold: 1) Grow Amazon Ads awareness & consideration amongst SMBs globally 2) Drive Sponsored Ads demand for the self service (SSO) channel.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of driving compelling creative strategy and execution at an agency or in-house creative team experience

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote

  • Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions

  • Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery

  • Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)

  • Experience presenting creative concepts effectively to senior executives

  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
