Weill Cornell Medical College Residency Program Coordinator in New York, New York

Title: Residency Program Coordinator

Location: Upper East Side

Work Days: Monday-Friday

Exemption Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $72,800.00 - $82,300.00

*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices

Position Summary

Under general direction, is responsible for the administration of the department's residency and/or fellowship program(s).

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages all facets of the residency and/or fellowship orientation process, including assisting residents in obtaining housing, if needed.

  • Coordinates the completion and submission of semi-annual Ongoing Professional Peer Evaluations for medical staff appointments and Focused Professional Peer Faculty evaluations for new medical staff appointments and existing physicians as necessary.

  • Ensures that the department's educational/training program(s) are in compliance with ACGME guidelines. Prepares documentation and recommendations to ensure favorable judgments on audits, re-accreditation and re-certification criteria.

  • Implements new regulations and develops procedures and new systems, as needed, to ensure compliance with federal policies, rules & regulations.

  • Assists in the coordination of Continuing Medical Education programs.

  • May develop, maintain and/or disseminate departmental or functional specific policies and procedures. May also be responsible for maintaining a departmental standard operating procedures (SOP) manual if available.

  • Responsible for disbursement/reimbursement activities as needed.

  • Coordinates the administrative functions of the National Residency Match program.

  • Generates reports for analysis.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

Approximately 3 years of related experience in an academic medical center

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to take initiative and simultaneously manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written correspondence with a very diverse constituency, in addition to providing clear and cohesive documentation.
